Colour-coded leaf logos for suppliers of environmentally-friendly products at Interstoff Asia Spring 2006

Specially designed and colour-coded logos will differentiate suppliers of environmentally-friendly fabrics at the upcoming Interstoff Asia Spring in Hong Kong. As of January, over 30% of the exhibitors will be suppliers of green textile products. The show is scheduled for 22 – 24 March 2006 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Renowned fashion designers, such as Giorgio Armani and Vera Wang, are coming out in favour of eco-friendly fabrics, and are increasingly using them in their garment collections. Though the use of eco-fabrics may push up the cost of the garments slightly, today’s fashion consumers are showing their concern and are opting for textile products which are healthier for the environment.

Interstoff Asia, always at the forefront of garment fabric trends, is the perfect place for suppliers of eco-friendly fabrics to meet buyers who have an environmental conscience. Two types of special colour coded leaf logo will differentiate suppliers of environmentally friendly fabrics at the fair:

• A green leaf logo highlights exhibitors using environmentally-friendly components in their fabrics, or those who have eco-friendly manufacturing processes.

• Exhibitor booths bearing the silver leaf logo mean that the company’s entire manufacturing system and production plant is certified environmentally-friendly by an official environmental watchdog organisation.

"We will showcase our range of 100% organic cotton at Interstoff Asia Spring 2006," said Mr. Shin Tan San of Y.S. (HK), one of the companies which will be highlighted by a green leaf logo. "More and more of our customers are asking for this type of environmentally sound product. This show is the perfect venue in which to promote them. The logos are a great idea”.
